Niagara regional council is asking for a place in the upcoming discussion regarding the future of the region's governance.
As the provincial government continues with a review of governance in 82 municipalities, mayors across the region are joining forces to create a solution that is made in-house; though regional council wants reassurance that all elected representatives from all levels are considered in the final decision.
A request for proposal is being considered by the region to help create a solution; though there is concern for what exactly will be asked to citizens as a part of the RFP.
The input from citizens will allow officials from the region to have a solid base for discussion when they enter the provincial meeting.
