Don’t Flush Your Goldfish Down the Toilet

Remember that pet goldfish you flushed down the toilet a couple of years ago?

Well officials with Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper found a 14-inch goldfish in the Niagara River, just downstream from a wastewater treatment plant.

But this isn’t too out of the ordinary. They say millions of goldfish actually live in the Great Lakes, destroying the natural habitat.

Instead of flushing them down the toilet, you should bring your goldfish to a local pet store if you decide you don’t want it anymore.
