CannTrust to Lay Off 180 Workers

CannTrust Holdings is slashing 20 per cent of its workforce, laying off 180 people.

The cannabis producer has greenhouses in Pelham and a manufacturing facility in Vaughn.

Health Canada is investigating the company for growing plants in unlicensed rooms.

Over $3-million of product from CannTrust has been returned by Ontario's cannabis retailer.

The company is working to fix the issues.

There's no word on how many jobs in Pelham will be affected.
