Winter Storm Watch Now in Effect for Sunday in Niagara

Winter weather travel advisory also in effect for Saturday

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm watch for Sunday in Niagara.

Forecasters say we could see anywhere from 15-to-25 cm of snow.

Poor visibility and blow snow is also forecast along with the risk of freezing rain over the Niagara Peninsula.

It's slated to hit Sunday morning ending that night.

Environment Canada says there is some uncertainty as to which areas will receive the heaviest snowfall amounts.

Residents are advised to monitor future forecasts.

A winter weather travel advisory is also in effect for Niagara on Saturday.

For Saturday, snow mixed with freezing drizzle is possible with snowfall accumulations between 5 and 10 cm.

Motorists could see reduced visibility along with slippery road conditions.

Due to the anticipated snowfall, The City of St. Catharines has implemented their S'no parking restrictions effective tomorrow at noon.

The City of Niagara Falls says temporary overnight parking will also not be permitted on any city streets from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. from Friday, February 14th, to Monday, February 17th.

Overnight parking permits are not valid during snow plowing operations, and vehicles on the street are subject to ticketing.

Residents are reminded to avoid parking on the street during winter storms to help our crews work more efficiently.
