Warm Weather Lingering to November

Environment Canada meteorologist says there's a 'weather bubble' over Niagara, with cooling air masses skirting around it

Looks like the warm weather we've had for September will stay with us into November.

Environment Canada meteorologist David Phillips tells us it does not mean we'll have a bout of cold weather in Niagara to pay for the warmth we've had, but he says their models show the warm will stay.  "Now, not every day, but what I'm giving you is not a weather forecast, but more of a seasonal outlook.  It's telling us the personality of the character of the fall moving forward, and our models seem to show warmer than normal, so that's normal than what October would normally be."

He adds he feels very optimistic this autumn will be very nice.

He's also looking at what he calls a weather bubble over Niagara, that's kept this warm September in place.

Normally weather patterns come through to cool things off, such as from Atlantic Canada, or the Alberta clipper, or the Colorado low.  "All those things have been there, but they've had to skirt around this ridge of high pressure area, that is almost like a bubble or a dome that's got us locked under it."
