Kits will be available in participating stores and pharmacies
Walmart has reversed course on a plan to force shoppers to order $35 in groceries on line, if they want to receive one of the province's free COVID rapid testing kits.
Yesterday, the province announced it was making the free kits available at grocery and pharmacies to all residents.
That's when the NDP started crying foul over the Walmart plan.
In a statement, Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates called it disgusting adding “Ford should not be allowing any company to hold our tests hostage and force people to shop at their stores.”
Doug Ford then tweeted out "we are providing the tests free of charge and participating partners are expected to honour that and if they don’t we will give them to retailers or pharmacies that will."
Walmart defending the move saying they were just trying to find a way to avoid long lines in stores.
