Walkway over 406 Closer to Reality

Federal funding to provide further study into walkway details

The federal government is providing the City of St. Catharines $50,000 to study the feasibility of a pedestrian, cyclist walkway over Highway 406.

It would connect Glenridge and Merritton communities to Burgoyne Woods Park.

Another next step is for the province, Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority and the public to see the types of crossing options, and where to put the bridge.

Infrastructure Canada says this bridge is one of 50 active transportation projects across Ontario with investments of over $2.3-million.
