Wainfleet residents can now get water samples tested at Town Hall.
Effective this week, the Township's expanded water testing program will allow both the pick up and drop-off of water samples for testing.
Due to the pandemic, changes needed to be made to the way water safety is assessed.
Mayor Kevin Gibson, who advocated for the program, says this is a necessary service.
"In a small rural setting with no municipal water services, the ability to test water quality is essential."
Bottles can be pick up in the front vestibule inside the front doors at Town Hall, and full samples can be dropped off in the same area.
Residents dropping off samples just need to put their bottle back on the top shelf and either ring the bell or knock to let staff know to retrieve the bottle.
The bottle will be refrigerated until a courier arrives to transport it to the Public Health Lab.
Residents can pick up or drop off empty sample bottles at Town Hall during opening hours.
Bottles containing sample water can be returned between 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday to Thursday, or before 9:00 AM on Friday.
