Arrest Made in St. Catharines Assault

NRP arrested suspect after appeal for public assistance, police still looking for 3 other men

Niagara Regional Police are releasing more details about an assault that happened in the area of Merritt Steet and Townline Road East, in St. Catharines. The victim was walking when he randomly encountered a group of four men.  Moments after the encounter, one of the males approached the victim and repeatedly struck him, leaving the victim injured on the ground.

As a result of this investigation, detectives have identified the suspect as Raymond Douglas Warner (34 years old) from the Niagara Region of no fixed address.

He is wanted for Aggravated Assault.

Detectives are encouraging Warner to seek legal counsel and turn himself in to the NRPS.

Warner is described as a white male, approximately 5’8” tall. He has a slender build and is approximately 125 lbs. He has short straight light brown hair with hazel eyes. Warner has a scar on the left side of his upper lip.

If you see Warner do not approach him and contact 911.

This investigation remains ongoing, and detectives are interested in identifying and speaking with the three additional males that were with Warner at the time of this assault.  These individuals are asked to contact the NRPS investigative team. Further, anyone with any information regarding this incident or the individuals involved are asked to contact the investigating officer, at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009711.
