The unemployment rate in Canada has increased for a third consecutive month
The country's unemployment rate rose last month.
Statistics Canada says the rate went up one point, to 5.5 percent.
About 6400 jobs across the country were lost.
This is the third month in a row that the unemployment rate has gone up.
This comes as the economy also battles high interest rates, making borrowing more costly for individuals and businesses.
Experts also say population growth is a factor.
