Christa Deguchi won the women’s 57kg judo event yesterday, while Summer McIntosh won the women’s 400m individual medley.
PARIS - We now have five medals at the Paris Summer Olympics.
Team Canada won two gold medals yesterday with Christa Deguchi winning the women’s 57kg judo event and swimmer Summer McIntosh winning the women’s 400m individual medley.
This is McIntosh's second medal in Paris so far, after the 17-year-old from Toronto won silver in the women's 400-metre freestyle swim on Saturday.
Hamilton's very own Eleanor Harvey captured Canada's first Olympic fencing medal on Sunday with a bronze women's individual foil.
Rylan Wiens and Nathan Zsombor-Murray also won bronze in men's synchronized 10m platform diving yesterday.
As of 6:25 a.m. today, Team Canada was ranked 9th in the total medal count so far with five total.
