In keeping with recent polling in Canada, a new Leger poll doesn't show the best of news for the governing Liberals.
29% of respondents to an online poll last weekend said they think Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre would make the best prime minister.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau well back with only 19 per cent, and 15 per cent opted for N-D-P Leader Jagmeet Singh.
The poll of 1,600 Canadians also found that 40% would vote Conservative if a federal election were held today, compared to 26% for the Liberals.
Meanwhile, another poll by Leger looked at what institutions Canadians trust.
The police lead with 73%, followed by Elections Canada with 69 percent support.
That dropped to 44% for the House of Commons, and 40% for the media.
