As the SIU and the NRPS continue their investigation, charges have been laid against a woman.
As a result of the parallel investigation being conducted by the NRPS, a 29 year old woman is facing several charges.
Those charges include Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Schedule I substance.
Police are also reporting that two NRP officers were injured at the scene of the Niagara-on-the-Lake incident.
The SIU has released the identity of a man who was fatally shot by police in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
After gaining consent from the next of kin, the SIU has identified 27 year old Martin Gordyn of the Niagara Region as the man who lost his life during an incident with officers in Niagara-on-the-Lake yesterday.
SIU detectives are still investigating the area and conducting interviews.
One officer from the NRPS has been designated as a subject officer, and officers from the NRPS, Niagara Parks Police Service and the OPP have been designated as witness officers.
The SIU says that the incident happened near a trail, and they believe that two cyclists in the area may have witnessed the shooting.

The SIU says it began when officers were called to a business in the area of Lundy's Lane and Corwin Avenue in Niagara Falls yesterday afternoon around 1:30, about two people sleeping in a vehicle.
When police arrived the vehicle fled with the driver ignoring several attempts to stop it.
The vehicle then hit a ditch and came to a stop in the area of the Niagara Parkway and Line 3.
The SIU says there was an interaction between a man and police, with an officer discharging his firearm.
The unidentified man was taken to hospital where he later died.
Police are attempting to identify the individual.
Around 1:30 p.m. today, officers were called to the intersection of Lundy's Lane and Corwin Avenue, following up on a report of a suspected impaired driver.
The vehicle in question was located around 2:20 in Niagara-on-the-Lake near the area of Line 3 and Niagara River Parkway.
An adult male was shot by police following an altercation, and was pronounced dead in hospital.
The NRP is also investigating the incident.
