Schools Partner to Help Health Care

Niagara and Mohawk Colleges have a deal to increase number of health care workers, by offering class space for programs the other school doesn't have

Niagara and Mohawk Colleges are partnering to address the shortage of health care workers.

The schools have signed an agreement that a set number of students from each school are guaranteed class space at the other school if one school does not have that program.

Mohawk is reserving spaces for Niagara's top graduates in several of its programs such as Cardiovascular Technology.

In turn, Niagara is opening spaces for Mohawk grads in programs such as dental hygiene.

Niagara College has been trying to help Niagara Health with diagnostic imaging employees, but it would take years to get a program at Niagara, so this is where Mohawk comes in.

The schools add this will ensure students stay in the area.
