Niagara Region in Green-Prevent stage in new framework for COVID-19 regional lockdowns and restrictions.
ONTARIO - The Ontario Government is implementing an early warning system with clear criteria for regions when it comes to lockdowns.
The COVID-19 response framework will use a colour coded system. So instead of stage 1,2,3 it will be colour coded.
Green/Prevent would mean the lowest level or restrictions.
Yellow/Protect would have strengthened restrictions,
Orange/Restrict would have even more restrictions,
Red/Control would be a modified stage 2 and;
Grey/Lockdown.
You can read more about what these restrictions mean online here.
Premier Doug Ford also announced that York, Ottawa and Peel regions will move to a restrict level Orange on Saturday, which would move it out of the modified Stage 2. Toronto will stay in the Red/Control modified stage 2 for now.
