The Ontario government is looking to increase access to ultrasounds and x-rays
The Ontario government is looking to give long-term care residents quicker access to diagnostic services.
Health Minister Sylvia Jones and Long Term Care Minister Paul Calandra have announced a couple of pilot projects to increase access to x-rays and ultrasounds.
The province has teamed up with hospitals in Toronto and Barrie to enhance service by increasing the number of hours for x-rays and ultrasounds.
The hospitals will also have a nurse navigator to help long-term care residents learn more about services.
The province also says it plans to work with hospitals in other municipalities to enhance care for long term care residents.
