Niagara Falls' mayor says more provincial transit funding will help the city bounce back from the hard hitting pandemic.

Jim Diodati was responding to another $505-million for municipalities, part of Safe Restart Funding program.

Ford told reporters this morning why the province is focused on safe and reliable transit

"Our population is expected to grow by 300,000 people every year for the next ten years. So we'll see three million more people living here in the next ten years."

The federal and provincial governments have dedicated more than $2-billion since 2020 to respond to the pandemic.
