Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced new travel restrictions.
As of next week, all international passenger flights will only be allowed to land in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal.
Trudeau says that in the coming weeks, mandatory PCR testing will be implemented for people returning to Canada.
All travellers will be required to isolate for three days in an approved hotel at their own expense.
If their results are negative, they will be allowed to be at home for the remainder of their quarantine, but with increased surveillance.
Effective Sunday, Air Transat, Air Canada, Sunwing and Westjet have cancelled flights to Mexico and Caribbean destinations until April 30th.
Return flights for Canadians in those areas are in the midst of being arranged.
As of earlier this month, travellers are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before coming to Canada.
