The City of Port Colborne is getting some money from the province.
The City is getting $267,630 from the province's Municipal Modernization Program to implement several projects to improve service delivery and administrative operations.
The money will be used for projects that will help modernize telecommunications systems, digitize public works permit processes, digitize fire and emergency services and records, and more.
The program was launched in 2019 to help small and rural municipalities find efficient ways to deliver local services.
“Our corporate leadership team, with the support of City Council, is committed to modernizing our processes and looking for efficiencies wherever possible,” said CAO Scott Luey. “The goal is to make interactions with the city simple, and we can accomplish this by upgrading to technologies that will create value for residents and businesses.”
