Eleven tickets issued for driving infractions, one license suspension issued
Police were out in full force over the long weekend to help keep roads safe.
On Friday, Niagara Regional Police officers conducted a R.I.D.E. spot check in St. Catharines.
Over 300 vehicles were stopped in the area of Burleigh Drive and Dalecrest Avenue.
Police asked drivers if they had consumed any alcohol or drugs before getting behind the wheel.
Twelve drivers were asked to take a breathalyzer test, and one person registered an "alert."
Their license was suspended for three days.
Eleven other drivers received tickets for various offences, and a small amount of cannabis was seized.
Impaired driving causes more deaths in Canada than any other crime.
