One suspect arrested, a second on the loose
One person has been arrested, and police are searching for a second suspect in connection with a drug investigation.
Yesterday, officers spotted a man with an active arrest warrant walking with a woman on Culp Street in Niagara.
Police found fentanyl, hydromorphone, oxycodone and a motel room key during the arrest.
Detectives searched the room and found a .22 caliber firearm, as well as about $201,750 worth of suspected fentanyl, oxycodone pills, hydromorphone pills and fentanyl patches.
They also found $400 believed to be counterfeit Canadian money.
34 year old Richard Thomas Caissie of no fixed address faces the following charges:
- Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a License
- Possession of a Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a License
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Possession of Counterfeit Money
The woman he was walking with has been identified as 26 year old Jasmine Marie Scarbro of St. Catharines.
She is currently wanted for the following crimes:
- Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a License
- Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a License
- Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Counterfeit Money
Caissie remains in custody, and will attend a bail hearing later today.
