Unknown amount of cash taken

Police are looking for a suspect after a convenience store in West Lincoln was robbed.

Around 11:01 p.m. last night, police arrived at the Avondale Store at 112 Brock Street.

Investigators say a woman entered a store, told a staff member she had a gun and demanded money from the cash register.

No gun was seen, and the employee complied.

The suspect ran westbound through the parking lot.

A K9 unit tracked the suspect westbound toward Griffin Street North, across the street and ended on McMurchie Lane, but the suspect wasn't found.

Police believe she might have gotten into a car on McMurchie Lane.

She is described as follows:

  • White female
  • Approximately 5’6 feet tall with a heavier build

She was wearing:

  • A grey ¾ length coat
  • Black hoodie sweater with the hood up
  • Yellow scarf covering most of her face
  • Black pants
  • Black boots
  • Black glasses

Police add there was bystander car traffic in the parking lot before and after the robbery, and nearby residents and businesses with dashcams or security cameras are asked to review any footage taken between 10:00 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. on July 26th.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-0688-4111, option 3, extension 1009935.
