Nineteen tickets issued for worn tires, defective brakes, fuel leaks and overloaded axles
The NRP continues its crackdown on commercial vehicles.
The agency has teamed up with the OPP, the Ministry of Transportation and the Town of Lincoln for a joint initiative focusing on commercial vehicle traffic.
The main goal of the initiative was to identify commercial vehicles intentionally bypassing the Vineland inspection station and conduct in depth safety inspections of vehicles.
On September 16th, over 125 passenger and commercial vehicles were directed into the station.
Police say 27 vehicles were inspected, and seven were removed from the road for safety reasons.
Officers seized four sets of license plates, and issued 19 tickets for various infractions such as defective brakes, excessively worn tires, overloaded axles and fuel leaks.
