Police Planning to Remove Ottawa Protestors This Weekend

Police will be blocking access to the downtown core this weekend and telling protestors that if you want to leave on your own accord, now is the time to do it.

Protestors in Ottawa are being warned that if they want to leave on their own terms, that now is the time to do it.

This is the message from Acting Police Chief Steve Bell. Bell says police have been bolstering resources and developing plans to remove protestors who have been occupying the city's downtown for 21 days.

This is all happening as parliament debates the use of the Emergencies Act. The NDP and Liberals support the use of the act, while the Conservatives and Bloc do not.

This has led to heated and contentious debates all day.

Ottawa Police meanwhile plan to block access to the downtown core this weekend. They are telling protestors to stay home and that you will not have access to the downtown.

The ones who are already downtown, do not have any plans to leave. They even set up a small hot tub outside of Parliament. Downtown also features bouncy castles and a makeshift daycare.
