Early morning on Sunday, March 8 the clocks will go forward, meaning we will be losing an hour.
With the time change comes the time interval to change the batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home.
The 2015 Ontario Fire Code says there should be at least one smoke alarm on ever storey of the home, as well as one outside all bedrooms.
Home fires kill eight Canadians a week on average, which results in 73 per cent of all fire deaths.
