Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights Returns this Weekend in Niagara Falls

The 37th annual Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights, will kick off in Niagara Falls this weekend.

Several light displays will light up along the Niagara Parkway and in the Clifton Hill, Victoria Centre and Lundy's Lane tourist areas.

Niagara Parks CEO David Adames says there will be a number of new displays this year.

"We'll have the passage as the base of Clifton Hill right on Niagara Parkway. It's an illuminated passage way that guests can walk through. We'll also have the impulse light display and those are interactive teeter-totters."

Adames says guests will also be able to check out illuminated talking heads outside the old Toronto Power building.

Guests can walk or drive-by the displays for free, but donations will be accepted as people go through Dufferin Islands.

Niagara Parks will offer a free WEGO shuttle service in Queen Victoria Park for those who want to walk the festival. It will leave Table Rock on Fridays and Saturdays, starting on November 22nd.

Adames is predicting more than a million visitors to the festival this year.

He would also like to thank all of the volunteers who dedicate their time and help out. He says some of them dedicate hundreds of hours each year.

The festival will officially kick off on Saturday November 16th and end on Sunday January 12th.
