NRP Reveal Latest RIDE Check Stats

Police set up road checks last night in Fort Erie and St. Catharines

It was a fairly decent night for Niagara regional police last night during a RIDE check, with one exception.

They stopped about 300 vehicles at checks in Fort Erie and St. Catharines, asking if drivers had been drinking that night.

14 drivers were required to give a breath sample, all of them passed and were free to go.

However, one driver chose not to stop when asked by police, and was subsequently stopped a few blocks away.

Police say the driver was charged with fail to stop when signaled by a police officer, along with several other offences.
