Police say this is in connection to reports of woman posing as officer asking for prescription drugs at retirement home
A Niagara Regional Police officer has been suspended following reports of a suspicious person at a retirement community.
Last month, police began an investigation after receiving reports about a woman pretending to be a police officer.
According to the report, a woman knocked on doors at the Heritage Village Vineland on Victoria Avenue, and told homeowners she was a police officer collecting unwanted drugs and prescriptions.
The NRP initially believed this was someone posing as an officer, however, a constable has now been suspended.
The officer's identity has not been released.
