NRP Make Human Trafficking Arrests

They say it's in connection to investigation back to December

More suspects have been arrested in connection to human trafficking in Niagara.

Back in December, police began looking into a certain case of someone over the age of 18 being trafficked.

As a result, two men were identified, and police arrested them today.

Police say 47-year old Wasim Ahmed of Maple, and 61-year old Mohammad Arshad Ghummian of Mississauga face charges:

  • Trafficking in persons by recruiting
  • Procuring
  • Sexual assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Uttering threats

They were held pending a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.

Police believe there may be more victims.
