NRP Arrest 2 Men on Weapon Offences

One is charged with assault with a weapon, both are from St. Catharines

Two men from St. Catharines have been charged with a slew of weapon offences after a gun investigation by police this month.

NRP used a search warrant at a house in the Ontario Street and Welland Avenue area on Thursday.

Police say they found two guns and some ammunition.

43-year old Michael Mills is charged with: 

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Use of Firearm during Commission of an Offence
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Possess Firearm without Holding a Licence
  • Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not holding a Licence
  • Unauthorized Possession of  Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered with
  • Possess of Firearm Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

Police have also charged 36-year old William Austin with: 

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without holding a Licence
  • Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm knowingly not holding a Licence
  • Possession of a Firearm knowing serial number has been Tampered with
  • Possess Unloaded Regulated Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon or Prohibited Device Knowingly not holding a Licence

Both men had bail hearings in St. Catharines.
