3 new walkin clinics are open, to give people struggling with addiction quicker care
People fighting drug or alcohol addiction now have more help at their disposal.
Effective immediately, Niagara Health is changing its addiction clinics to a walkin model, and opening three new locations.
People with substance abuse problems can have difficulty keeping appointments, and cope with long wait times.
Director of Mental Health and Addictions Laura Farelly says the walkin clinic gives patients the flexibility to access care when they need it, without the pressure of waiting for an appointment.
The walkin clinics are available at the Marotta hospital in St. Catharines, as well as Niagara Falls and Welland hospitals, and at 264 Welland Avenue in St. Catharines.
