Construction underway for residential units at various sites
In a number of years you'll see three new buildings at the corner of Stanley Avenue and Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls.
There's a huge construction pit there now, prepping for 889 residential units.
Director of planning Andrew Bryce tells us it's part of the region's plan for growth.
"Anticipated through the region's Official Plan, which was just recently approved by the province.... that the City of Niagara Falls would see developed about 20,000 residential units by 2051," he says.
He adds there will be a number of businesses in two of the buildings.
He also says they're in the permit stage. "It's a technical exercise where we ensure that the building is properly serviced, it's landscaped, and that we're dealing with fire protection and access matters."
He adds condos are going in the site where Canadian Tire used to be on Montrose Road.
