
31 year old facing multiple charges after weekend incident
A 31 year old Niagara Falls man is facing a slew of charges after NRP responded to a breach of release conditions in Fort Erie last weekend.
Police say an investigation revealed that a male suspect believed to be violating a court order was in the area of Niagara Boulevard and Bertie Street and was further involved in a weapon and threat incident.
Police arrested a suspect a short distance away and discovered a switch blade knife, two glock style semi-automatic pellet handguns, an axe machete, knife and black sheath, a small quantity of suspected cocaine and a preferred customer card in another person's name.
On March 19th, NRP charged Michael Vincent McGuire with the following offences:
Assault with a Weapon contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
Uttering Threats contrary to Section 264.1(2) of the Criminal Code
Assault contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to Section 88(1) of the Criminal Code
Carrying a Concealed Weapon contrary to Section 90(1) of the Criminal Code
Possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (2 Counts)
McGuire has been remanded in custody.
The investigation is continuing and further charges are anticipated.
