A man is facing charges following an incident in the Falls.
Around 9:20 last night, police responded to an armed person call in the area of Margaret Street and Caledonia Street.
An off duty police officer noticed a man walking in the area with what appeared to be an assault rifle.
When he got to the intersection, he appeared to look in both directions to see if there was a nearby threat.
He then turned around and went back to his residence.
Officers contained the area around the house, and the man came out voluntarily, surrendering to police.
Thirty-six year old David Macdonald of Niagara Falls was arrested and faces a possession-related charge.
Earlier today, a search warrant in the same area turned up a revolver style handgun, 2 semi-automatic pistols, one long gun, one assault rifle and several edged weapons.
Police say they're seeing a large amount of air rifles in the community, which bear a strong resemblance to actual firearms.
The public is reminded not to use or display air rifles in public.
