New safety measures to be put in place
Niagara Falls city council agreeing to spend around $31,000 to safety proof the popular hill.
It’s part of a new Risk Mitigation Strategy aimed at reducing risk and ultimately liability.
The strategy includes daily inspections, hazard protection with hay-bales or alternative products, safety fencing, as well as snow removal and ice melting on the parking area and staircase.
Two spotters will also be on hand to serve as full-time on-site supervisors.
