Niagara Election Debates Being Planned

Niagara residents will soon have a chance to hear from local candidates running for municipal office.

Local residents will soon have an opportunity to hear from candidates running in the upcoming municipal election. 

Dolores Fabiano, Executive Director of the South Niagara Chambers of Commerce, says her team is planning several debates with mayoral candidates early next month. 

The dates confirmed so far are as follows: 

  • October 4 - Fort Erie Leisureplex
  • October 6th - Gale Centre in Niagara Falls
  • October 11th - Welland Arena community room
  • October 12th - Roselawn in Port Colborne
  • October 13th - Fonthill Legion in Pelham

Fabiano also says details for a Wainfleet debate are still being worked out. 

Each of the debates will start at 6:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce is holding a meet and greet for St. Catharines candidates, which will allow voters to have one on one conversations with candidates. 

The meet and greet will take place on October 5th at 13th Street Winery, as part of a Business After 5 event.

Meanwhile, the Grimsby and District Chamber of Commerce will hold a Meet Your Candidates event on October 6th at 5:00 p.m. at the Casablanca Hotel. 

The municipal election is taking place on October 24th.
