Leadership hopefuls remain in limbo waiting for details on when the race will begin
No decisions yet on when the provincial NDP will hold a leadership vote.
Would-be candidates, which could include Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates remain in limbo waiting for firm details on when the race will be held and how much it will cost to enter, after party officials could not agree on timelines and entry requirements.
Some party sources expect the vote to replace Andrea Horwath will take place in February and that it could as much as $50,000 for each candidate to register to run.
Horwath announced on election night that she would be stepping down as leader of the party after her party fell to 31 seats from the 40 in 2018.
Gates, along with Marit Stiles, Joel Harden and Catherine Fife have shown an interest in running.
Interim leader Peter Tabuns has said he will not seek the permanent role as leader.
