New and gently-used winter wear will be accepted at the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre starting Saturday.
The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre is about to kickstart its Annual Mitten Tree Campaign.
Beginning Saturday, residents can drop off new or gently-used winter wear such as gloves, mittens, scarves and toques.
The items will help decorate the Mitten Tree set up in the lobby of the museum, and will help those in need through Start Me Up Niagara's Out of the Cold Program and Community Care St. Catharines and Thorold.
Organizers say a launch event will be held this Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Guests will be able to enjoy a scavenger hunt in the museum gallery, a reading of Candace Christiansen's book "The Mitten Tree", and more.
