More Hydro One Workers Head South

They passed over the Queenston-Lewiston bridge this morning, to help with hurricane relief

If you were at the Queenston-Lewiston bridge this morning, you might have seen a convoy of Hydro One trucks heading to the USA.

Tiziana Baccega Rosa is with Hydro One, and says another 50 people put their hands up, to help with hurricane relief efforts in Florida and Georgia.

She adds workers are from across Ontario and Niagara.  "They would see a line up of a bunch of trucks, with chippers on them.  It is quite a sight, because they drive together as a convoy... they've got their Canadian flags and are proud, and it's exactly what you would see at the Queenston-Lewiston crossing."

She adds the areas impacted by the storms pay for this, costing Ontario taxpayers nothing.

She also says workers tell of people down there offering what little they have in appreciation, be it food or accommodation, which can be emotional.

"When there were no accommodations, and crews are sometimes sleeping in their trucks, and people have invited them into their homes.  That's how much people care and appreciate the extra resources that are being brought in."

Hydro One workers made their way through Niagara Falls last week, heading south.
