The Ford Government says kids between the ages of five and 11 will become eligible for the bivalent COVID-19 booster shot as of Wednesday December 21st.
ONTARIO - Kids between the ages of five and 11 will be able to receive their bivalent COVID-19 booster shot over the holiday break.
Health Minister Sylvia Jones says they will be eligible as of Wednesday December 21st.
"As the weather gets colder and more people spend time with their loved ones indoors this holiday season, vaccination remains the most effective way we can protect ourselves from the most serious effects of COVID-19 and influenza. Vaccines provide strong protection against severe illness from COVID-19 and its variants and will help ease pressures on our hospitals and emergency departments."
The bivalent shot protects against the original COVID-19 strain as well as other variants. Officials say you can also receive your flu shot at the same time.
