Is the Federal Government Getting Set to End Arrive-CAN App?

Report in Toronto Star indicates Arrive-CAN and other pandemic era restrictions will be ending soon

It looks like the controversial Arrive-CAN app that has irked local tourism operators as well as local government officials could soon be scrapped by the federal government.

According to a report in the Toronto Star, the federal government is considering turning the page on pandemic-era restrictions by ending the COVID-19 vaccination mandate at the border and scrapping random testing requirements.

The move would mean unvaccinated travelers would once again be allowed to visit Canada.

The Arrive-CAN app has been blamed for long line-ups at land border crossings as many foreigners were unaware of the mandatory requirement.

The Star story which does not name a source implies the change is on the horizon but no date for any official announcement has been made.
