Niagara Health says it hasn't raised rates in almost 9-years, despite rising costs
It's something Niagara Health says it hasn't done in almost 9-years... raise parking rates.
The organization says parking revenues play a vital role in maintaining services, and as of December 16th, the maximum day rate goes from $16 to $19.
Niagara Health adds over 80% of revenue goes to patient care, and yearly, that revenue brings in roughly $4.5-million to buy equipment and maintain hospital operations.
Parking rates have not gone up despite rising costs.
Niagara Health adds the increase is in line with other hospitals, but it'll keep offering discounts for frequent users such as staff, volunteers, students, patients and visitors.
