Fedeli Shines a Light on Ontario Together Online Portal

Lots of businesses across the province are now producing personal protective equipment, to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Vic Fedeli, the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, says lots of them have been taking advantage of the Ontario Together online portal

“So far about 17,000 submissions have been made on it. You go on it and you can say yes I can masks, face shields or sanitizer. It takes you through the system and gets you set up with the people with the province of Ontario who are doing the ordering.”

Fedeli says the Ford Government has set aside $50-million to help businesses retool their operations to produce PPE through the Ontario Together fund.

“The Premier has been very clear that we don’t ever want to get caught being so reliant on outside of Ontario companies for things that are so vital because there are places around the world that are now hoarding or price gauging.”

A handful of distilleries in Niagara have been producing their own sanitizer including Dillion’s Small Batch Distillers in Beamsville, Forty Creek Whiskey in Grimsby and Niagara Falls Craft Distillers.
