Police say someone used a ladder to climb the pole

Your help is needed by police to find those responsible for the theft of copper wire from a telephone pole in Welland.

NRP were called around 9:30am, Friday, March 8th, to the Humberstone and Thorold Townline Road area concerning a theft.

They found someone used a ladder to climb up the pole, and cut and steal cable, around 3am.  About 200 metres of wire was taken, valued at over $10,000.

The suspect or suspects also cut 3 low, thick, gauge aluminum wires from a telephone pole across the road.

Police say damage and repair estimate is up to $15,000, and the thieves appeared to use a white van or truck.
