Interim Leader Candice Bergen calling on Trudeau to present a plan to scrap federal COVID-19 mandates, while calling for protests to end.
The federal Conservatives are calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to come up with a plan to lift all federal COVID-19 mandates.
Interim Leader Candice Bergen has tabled a motion calling on Trudeau and his cabinet to drop all federal pandemic restrictions and transition to a post COVID society promptly.
In her House of Commons speech today, Bergen referenced a comment made by Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam, where she suggested existing restrictions should be "re-evaluated."
Bergen calling for an end to protests taking place in Ottawa and border crossings in Ontario and Alberta, saying their message has been heard.
She is imploring members of all parties to unite to restore "peace and order."
Meanwhile, Health Minister Jean-Yves DuClos has responded, noting that while Canada is in a different place in addressing the pandemic than it was a couple of years ago, thousands of cases continue to be reported every day, stretching the health care system.
