Community Tree Plant Taking Place in Pelham Tomorrow

Event will take place at 10:00 a.m. at North Pelham Park tomorrow

The Town of Pelham is marking Earth Week.

Tomorrow, the town is holding the Community Tree plant at North Pelham Park, starting at 10 AM.

During the event, 30 native species trees will be planted.

The trees were provided by an investment from the Niagara Community Foundation Environmental Grants Program.

Anyone who attends the event is encouraged to bring a shovel and gardening gloves.

Tree species that will be planted include Black Walnut, Bur Oak and American Sycamore.

The free event will be held rain or shine, and appropriate outdoor clothing is recommended.

"It is inspiring to see the expansion of the tree canopy for North Pelham Park during earth week! Planting the native species is a great way for residents to get involved in activities that can positively impact the environment," said Town of Pelham’s Director of Recreation, Culture and Wellness Vickie vanRavenswaay.
