The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has made a first quarter payment of over $6.2 million to the City for hosting two casinos.
The City of NIagara Falls has received some money from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
The OLG says it has made a first quarter payment of $6,257,258 to the City for hosting Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.
Payments to host communities are based on a formula using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
"OLG’s land-based casinos are once again providing an important stream of revenue to gaming host communities through Municipality Contribution Agreements," said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. "Municipalities rely on this funding to maintain essential programs and services, and to help improve the lives of people across Ontario."
Since its first casino opened in 1996, Niagara Falls has received $181,245,788.
