Skylar Park won bronze in taekwondo and Maude Charron won silver in weightlifting.
PARIS - Another medal couple of medals for Team Canada at the Paris Olympics!
Skylar Park has won the bronze medal in the women’s 57kg taekwondo event. The 25-year-old is from Winnipeg, and this is Canada's first Olympic medal in taekwondo in 16 years.
Opening Ceremony flag bearer Maude Charron also won silver in the women's 59 kilogram weightlifting class earlier today.
This brings Canada's medal count to 21 with six gold, five silver, and 10 bronze. As of 2:50 p.m. today, Canada was ranked 11th in the overall medal count.
Meanwhile, Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson of Toronto have a shot at winning the gold medal for women's beach volleyball, after they beat Switzerland 2-1 earlier today.
