Winter Weather Warning Continues
Buses are cancelled, but schools are open today across Niagara for both Niagara Catholic and the DSBN.
Franco Bus Transportation says buses are cancelled and schools are closed for the Niagara Region.
Brock University says with less snow arriving overnight than originally expected, the school will be fully operational today with all in-person and online classes taking place as scheduled at its St. Catharines and Hamilton campuses.
Brock officials say they will continue to monitor the weather situation as more snow is expected throughout the day today and if cancellations are required, a decision on in-person evening classes and activities will be announced by 3 p.m.
Niagara College tweeting out its campuses remain open , and all scheduled on-campus and remote classes, labs, services and work are continuing as scheduled.
Niagara Region says all of its services are open and operational.
Officials say they have 27 snow plow trucks out plowing and treating Regional roads with more trucks hitting the road at 7 a.m.
Meantime, the winter weather warning continues for Niagara.
Environment Canada says while the snow has decreased in intensity right now, it will re-intensify this afternoon and continue through tonight.
Between 20 and 30 cm of snow is expected to fall in total.
The weather office advises we postpone any unnecessary travel until conditions improve.
