NRP say a CIBC in Niagara Falls was robbed last month
An arrest has been made in connection to the armed robbery of a CIBC in Niagara Falls.
Police were called Friday afternoon, February 16th, to the bank on Huggins Street, to find a suspect had made off with some money.
He had a gun, but there were no injuries.
Niagara regional police say on Friday the Halton police force arrested 54-year old Stephane Smith, and handed him over to Niagara police the next day.
He faces a number of charges.
- Robbery with a firearm
- Uttering threats
- Possession of firearm, weapon or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Drive motor vehicle no licence
Police add he remains in custody, after a bail hearing, with a future court date scheduled.
Following the robbery, police said in a statement he was considered armed and dangerous, and not to approach him.
